A0601/hpux/INSTALL revision: 1998-02-27 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- HP ELOQUENCE A.06.01 - Installation Instructions ================================================ HP Eloquence can only be installed and run on HP-UX Operating System Release 9.0 or later. HP Eloquence A.06.01 will be installed in the /opt/eloquence6 directory and will not affect any previous HP Eloquence A.05.xx revision. In order to install HP Eloquence, you need to unpack the files with gzip. Gzip is included with HP-UX 10.x and can be obtained for HP-UX 9.x from this ftp server in the /pub directory. Installing on HP-UX 9.x: ------------------------ As "superuser," follow the steps below to install the HP Eloquence software. 1. Unpack the archive at a temporary location gzip -d B1368B.updt.gz This unpacks B1368B.updt.gz to B1368B.updt. The compressed archive file is deleted. 2. Run update(1m) by typing: /etc/update 3. Select "Change Source or Destination ->". 4. Select "From Tape Device to Local System ...". 5. Tab to the "Source" field and enter the following: /tmp/B1368B.updt where /tmp is the directory where the B1368B.updt file is located. 6. Press "Done". 7. Select "Select/View Partitions and Filesets ..." 8. Activate the HP Eloquence partition(s) you would like to install: B1368B-A0600 - Base product B1368B-A0600-T - Install a 30 days temporary license key B1368B-MIG - HP260 migration tools B1368B-PDF - Documentation in PDF format B1368B-HTML - Documentation in HTML format 9. Select "Start Loading". 10. Type "y" to "Start loading filesets now?". 11. Check /tmp/update.log to make sure installation completed with no error. Installing on HP-UX 10.x: ------------------------- As "superuser," follow the steps below to install the HP Eloquence software. 1. Unpack the archive at a temporary location gzip -d B1368B.sd.gz This unpacks B1368B.sd.gz to B1368B.sd. The compressed archive file is deleted. 2. Run "swinstall" by typing: /usr/sbin/swinstall -s /tmp/B1368B.sd where /tmp is the directory where the B1368B.sd file is located. 3. In the Software Selection Window, select/highlight the product options you would like to install then choose the "Mark for Install" item from the Actions Menu. The "Marked?" column will automatically be set to "Yes". The following options are available: B1368B - Install the base software B1368B-TLIC - Install a 30 days temporary license key B1368B-ALL - Install all file sets When opening the B1368B-ALL bundle, you can enable/disable individual product options. 4. Select the "Install (analysis...)" item from the Actions Menu. When the analysis is finished with no error, i.e. Status:Ready, click OK. 5. Click Yes in the Confirmation window to begin the actual installation process. 6. When the installation is completed, a dialog is displayed to notify you that the install task is completed.
