HP ELOQUENCE A.06.31 - Installation Instructions (HP-UX)
========================================================

HP Eloquence can only be installed and run on HP-UX Operating 
System Release 10.01 or later. 
HP Eloquence A.06.31 is installed in the /opt/eloquence6 directory 
and will not affect a previous HP Eloquence A.05.xx revision.

HP Eloquence files are compressed with GNU zip (gzip). In order 
to install HP Eloquence you need to unpack the files. Gzip is 
included with HP-UX 10.x and above or can be obtained from this 
ftp server in the /pub directory.

For a new HP Eloquence installation or when upgrading from a 
HP Eloquence version before A.06.30 a license key must be 
installed in order to use the HP Eloquence server components.
When updating from revision A.06.30 or an A.06.30 license key 
is already present no new license key is required. 

The default license file includes a new license key for the 
HP Eloquence Personal Edition. 

Please request a new permanent license key using the form included 
with the delivery or refer to the HP Eloquence web site 
at URL http://www.hp-eloquence.com/license/

During installation, you have the option to create a temporary
license key which is valid for four weeks.


Installing on HP-UX
-------------------

   As "superuser," follow the steps below to install the HP Eloquence
   software.

   1. Unpack the archive at a temporary location
 
         gzip -d B1368B-A.06.31-2.sd.gz
 
      This unpacks B1368B-A.06.31-2.sd.gz to B1368B-A.06.31-2.sd.gz. 
      The compressed archive file is deleted.

   2. Run "swinstall" by typing:

         /usr/sbin/swinstall -s /tmp/B1368B-A.06.31-2.sd.gz
 
      where /tmp is the directory where the B1368B-A.06.31-2.sd.gz 
      file is located.

   3. In the Software Selection Window, select/highlight the product
      options you would like to install then choose the "Mark for 
      Install" item from the Actions Menu. 
      The "Marked?" column will automatically be set to "Yes".
      
      The following options are available:
      B1368B         - Install the base software
      B1368B-TLIC    - Install a 30 days temporary license key
      
      To install the HP260 migration tools please change the
      view to products and select the B1368B-MIG product option.

   4. Select the "Install (analysis...)" item from the Actions Menu.
      When the analysis is finished with no error, i.e. Status:Ready, 
      chose OK.

   5. Choose Yes in the Confirmation window to begin the actual
      installation process.

   6. When the installation is completed, a dialog is displayed to 
      notify you that the install task is completed.  You may exit then.


Updating from a previous HP Eloquence version
---------------------------------------------

When updating from a previous HP Eloquence A.06.xx release the following
actions should be performed in additon to updating the software.

License key

If you are using the commercial HP Eloquence version, please request
your new A.06.30 license key before updating HP Eloquence. As an 
alternative you have the option to install a temporary license key 
during installation which is valid for a period of four weeks.
The new license key can be requested by either submitting the form
enclosed with your software update or on-line at the HP Eloquence
web site: http://www.hp-eloquence.com/license/

Please comment out the previous license key when adding the new A.06.30 
license key to your license file /etc/opt/eloquence6/license.
Otherwise the new license may not be recognized and chklic might
output the following messages:

  A.06.20: Bad license key revision.
  Duplicate sequence number: Ignoring license

HP Eloquence Personal Edition

With the HP Eloquence Personal Edition, please copy the A.06.30
license file template to /etc/opt/eloquence6/license. The new
license file includes an updated license key for the HP Eloquence
Personal Edition.
